John Freitag
III FFC Field Supervisor (Illinois and Iowa)

John Freitag has over 20 years of experience with labor law.  Beginning his career with the Illinois Department of Labor in 1985, Mr. Freitag was responsible for conducting direct investigations of businesses reportedly violating various state labor laws, including the minimum wage and overtime law and the child labor law.  In 1988, Mr. Freitag was promoted to a hearing officer position conducting in-depth hearings to resolve employer/employee wage disputes. Mr. Freitag transferred to the Conciliation and Mediation Division in 1991 and began enforcing the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.  In 2000, Mr. Freitag was promoted to manager of that division, managing a 16 unit investigative team operating with a $2 million annual budget.  In 2003, Mr. Freitag began working as the Fair Contracting Director for the Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) and in 2006 was promoted to the Assistant Executive Director position while maintaining his position as Director of the Fair Contracting.  In July 2006, John joined the III FFC as a supervisor of its Construction Investigation Unit in Illinois and Iowa.
