Infrastructure

Crumbling infrastructure is a major problem throughout the United States. Roads are in disrepair, bridges are weakening, and highways are congested. Repairs to existing infrastructure and construction of new road and bridges are essential in keeping our nation up-to-date. Below are links for more information on the infrastructure crisis.

Indiana is in desperate need of infrastructure repairs as 25% of its bridges are structurally deficient and 29% of its major roads are in poor or mediocre condition.

Illinois’ transportation system is critical for the entire nation. Illinois has the nation’s third largest interstate highway network with five of the transcontinental interstates moving traffic throughout Illinois.

Iowa also has a critical need for infrastructure investments so that it may compete in the global economy. Without such investments, Iowa’s economic future and competitiveness looks dim.
